EDWARD KILLIAN

Edward G. “Moose” Killian, 85, of Perrysburg, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Manor of Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, on June 3, 1924, to Jacob and Josephine (Sisolak) Killian. He was a 1942 graduate of Rossford High School, where he excelled in basketball, football and baseball, and was inducted into RHS Athletic Hall of Fame. After graduation, Mr. Killian served his country in the Marines in the 3rd Marine Division, B Company in Guam and Iwo Jima during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, and a Silver Star. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, he married Rose Krasula and worked in the automotive industry in quality control. Mr. Killian was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, where he enjoyed working the parish festivals, and was a member of the Rossford VFW. He enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose (Krasula) Killian; sister, Josephine Cieply; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Kelli) Cieply, Monica Anders, Gregory (Pam) Pavlica, Barbara (Randy) Lippens, Barbara (James) Hasenfratz, Mary Ann (David) Glowczewski and Gerry Jagos, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Pavlica, and brothers- in-law, John Cieply and Emil Pavlica. Friends and family may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road, today, March 3, from 2 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, March 4, at All Saints Catholic Church, beginning at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Kent Kaufmann officiating. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.


NANCY ANN LEWIS
Nancy Ann (Reed) Lewis, age 76, of Perrysburg, died on Friday, February 19, 2010, at her home. She was born on October 11, 1933, to Charles and Odie Reed in Wauseon, Ohio. She grew up in Wauseon and after high school went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University. She met Richard Lewis in Bowling Green and they were married on June 23, 1956. Mrs. Lewis taught school in Sandusky and Rossford, raised children and worked for many years in the circulation desk at Way Public Library. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter and son-inlaw, Dana and David Gengenbach; daughter, Brenda Lewis Lechlak, and grandsons Corey and Casey Lewis Lechlak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis; brothers, George and Charles Reed, and sister Kathryn (Reed) Hicks. Per Mrs. Lewis’ wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Arrangements were handled by Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Cat Care Society (www.catcare society.org), Way Public Library or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.


WILLIAM SWARTZ
William R. Swartz, 84, of Walbridge, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on April 30, 1925, in Wood County, to William and Evalena (Reitzel) Swartz. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Mason’s. He married Luella Rust in 1950, and they had four boys. Mr. Swartz worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford and Rudolph/Libbe before retiring. He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Brenda), Gene (Tammy), Rex (Tracy) and William Swartz; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Shane, Adam (Emily), Steven (Julie), Natalie, Ted, Beth and Christie, sisters, Fern Bringman, Blanche Bonnough and his twin sister, Mary Nicodemus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella, in 1996. Visitation was held Saturday, February 27, in the Freck Funeral Chapel. Graveside services and burial were held in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.


NORMA J. WHITE
Norma J. White, a long time resident of Perrysburg, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in Troy, Michigan. She was born June 23, 1925, in Toledo, to Arthur and Lucille (Bender) Hahn. She was married on December 27, 1947, in Perrysburg, to Dr. Arthur White. She attended Bowling Green University, where she received her bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees in education. Ms. White additionally was a member of Phi Delta Kappa. She enjoyed teaching second grade at Frank Elementary School, in Perrysburg until her retirement after 30 years. She also was an active member of the Zoar Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children, Cathy White (Michael) Killian, Joseph (Fran) White; five grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Arthur White. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg, with Pastor Ann Marshall officiating. Burial followed at Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zoar Lutheran Church.
