Inadequacies in funding of public education tops BOE meeting
In tune with the release of the district’s five-year financial forecast (see related story), the Springfield Board of Education spoke out about the inadequate way school systems are funded statewide.
At the October 24 meeting, Superintendent Matt Geha shared information on the state funding cap and how it is affecting Springfield and other districts.
Under the current system, Springfield is failing to receive the amount of funding it should based on the state’s funding formula, he explained.
