Penta prepares for students back in classrooms and labs this fall
Governor Mike DeWine’s recent announcement that schoolchildren will return to classrooms in the fall prompted Penta Career Center officials to begin planning in earnest for August.
“We fully anticipate students will be back in the classroom, which is predicated on local decisions and working with the local health department,” Superintendent Ed Ewers said at the Penta board meeting June 3. “I believe there will be more guidelines coming from the Ohio Department of Education.”
School officials have reviewed a draft of ODE guidelines and are working with the 16 member schools on plans to “do things differently in the fall.”
Mr. Ewers is confident that social distancing and safety measures can be reasonably accomplished, especially with the size of the career center.
“With over 5,000 square feet—and our labs are large—we can bring students in,” he said.
