Penta recognized with Purple Star award

On January 16, Penta Career Center was recognized by the Ohio Department of Education with the Purple Star Award for commitment to students and families connected to the nation’s military.

Pete LuPiba, commissioner of Ohio’s Military Interstate Children’s Compact, presented the award to Superintendent Ed Ewers and students in the criminal justice program.

Penta is one of several schools in Ohio to be designated a Purple Star School in 2020. In addition, it is one of only a few career-technical schools to be a recipient of this award.

“We are so pleased to receive this honor,” said Mr. Ewers. “Our staff and students have always been dedicated to organizing activities that support the military, and this recognition validates our continued commitment to being a military-friendly school.”
