Trustees send comprehensive plan to county plan commission
After more than a year of meetings, an updated draft of Springfield Township’s master plan is ready to be sent to the Lucas County plan commission for review and approval.
At the January 6 trustees meeting, Glenn Grisdale, principal with Reveille Ltd. of Bowling Green, presented an overview of the comprehensive plan that has been more than one year in the making.
Mr. Grisdale’s firm worked with a team of 11 volunteers. They are township officials–Planning Director Jacob Barnes, Fire Chief Barry Cousino, Trustee Andy Glenn, Law Sirector Gary Sommer and Administrator Michael Hampton; Springfield Schools Superintendent Matt Geha, Lucas County Engineer Keith Earley; Sheriff John Tharp; County Sanitary Engineer Jim Shaw; Bill Hart of the Toledo/Lucas County Plan Commission, and Josh Torres of the Holland Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
The purpose of the project is to update the 2003 comprehensive plan, he explained, by establishing goals and setting the tone for growth and redevelopment.
