419 Music Fest to be held Sept. 21 in Springfield Twp.

The sixth annual 419 Music Fest, organized by the Springfield and Sylvania township fire departments and presented by Croak Capital, will take place Saturday, September 21.

The free-entry concert kicks-off at noon at Community Homecoming Park, 7807 Angola Road, Holland, and continues until 11 p.m. with live bands taking the foot stage each hour.

A dozen of the area’s hottest bands will entertain concertgoers while they enjoy food, beer and beverages from local food trucks.

Event director Todd Boatfield said the 419 Music Fest is hosted by the heroes at the Springfield Township and Sylvania Township fire departments to raise awareness and funds for its HERO program.

“The program aims to assist those in our communities who may experience unmet needs and health-related concerns. Our departments work with the residents, providers, insurance companies and other partner agencies to find solutions and help individuals lead safer, healthier lives,” he explained Along with supporting HERO, a percentage of the proceeds will go towards the family of Private Sterling “Butch” Rahe, a Toledo firefighter, who died unexpectedly earlier this year.

“Throughout the event, attendees will be given opportunities to offer support to the cause,” Boatfield said, adding, “Let’s come together for a day of beats, eats and noble feats. Join us September 21 and make a difference having fun and rocking out at the 419 Music Fest.”
