419 Music Fest to support Twp. HERO program

The sixth annual 419 Music Fest, organized by the Springfield and Sylvania township fire departments and presented by Croak Capital, takes place from noon to 11 p.m., tomorrow, September 21, at Community Homecoming Park, 7807 Angola Road, Holland. The concert is free and open to the public.

Music lovers will hear live bands performing each hour on a 40-foot stage. A dozen bands will entertain the crowd, and food, beers and beverages from local food trucks will be offered at the outdoor venue.

“The 419 Music Fest is hosted by heroes at the Springfield Township and Sylvania Township fire departments to raise awareness and funds for our HERO program,” explained Todd Boatfield, event director.

The program aims to assist those in the communities who may experience unmet needs and health-related concerns. The departments work with residents, providers, insurance companies and other partner agencies to find solutions and help individuals lead safer, healthier lives, Boatfield said.

Along with supporting the HERO program–and in solidarity with Toledo Firefighters Union Local 92 whose members suddenly lost beloved firefighter and paramedic Private Sterling Butch Rahe earlier this year–a percentage of the proceeds will be offered in support of the Rahe family.

He added, “Throughout the event, attendees will be given opportunities to offer support to the cause. So, come on northwest Ohio, let’s come together for a day of beats, eats and noble feats. Join us and make a difference while having fun and rocking out at the 419 Music Fest.”
