Actors Collaborative Toledo announces auditions for ‘I and You’ and ‘Durang/Durang’

Actors Collaborative Toledo (ACT) announces open auditions for its upcoming winter productions: “Durang/ Durang,” directed by ACT co-founder John Du-Vall, and “I and You,” directed by ACT co-founder Barbara Barkan. Auditions will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 316 Adams Street, Toledo, on Sunday, December 7, at 3 p.m., and Monday, December 8, at 6 p.m.

Christopher Durang’s “Durang/Durang”—a fastpaced, hilarious collection of comedic short plays and monologues—will be performed January 23 through 25, 2026.

Lauren Gunderson’s acclaimed and intimate drama “I and You” will be presented on February 20 to 23, 2026.

Character Information “Durang/Durang” requires six to seven actors with excellent comedic timing who can play a wide variety of characters across multiple short plays. They will require strong versatility, bold choices and comfort with absurdist and satirical comedy are essential.

“I and You” is a two-person play. Caroline is a sharpwitted, sarcastic teenage girl who has been homebound due to chronic illness. She is artistic, guarded and emotionally complex, with both strength and vulnerability. Anthony is a warm, thoughtful and enthusiastic teenage boy who arrives unexpectedly with a school project. He is athletic, poetic, earnest and carries deeper layers beneath his friendly demeanor.

Actors of any race, gender, gender identity or physical ability are encouraged to audition. Sides will be provided at the auditions. Additional details, including rehearsal schedules, will be available on ACT’s website and social media.
