Arts Commission to present works by grant recipients

The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, in partnership with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library, will present a group exhibition in the Toledo Main Library Gallery.

The exhibition, titled “Interconnected,” will feature 22 local artists who have applied for and received funding through one of the Arts Commission’s Artist Services grant opportunities in 2024. An artist reception will be held April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the library gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.

In 2024, the Arts Commission awarded $34,000 to literary, visual and performing artists in support of their artistic practice.

Participating artists are: Amy Beeler, Joan Brown, Black Swamp Players, Debra Buchanan, Kelci Crawford, Cyd Gottlieb, Erin Holden, Kerry Kirkpatrick, Mariah Maddox, Tom Marino, Ellie Martin, Aaron Peters, Yvette Reyes, Jaci Riley, Gabrielle Schaub, Brenda Singletary, Tim Spurchise, Ryan Thompson, Joel Trzcinski, Rose Wang, Connor Ward and Jillian Wohlfarth.

“The library is one of our strongest partners,” said Marc Folk, Arts Commission president and CEO. “We are honored to work with them to showcase the artwork of artists who have received grants through our artist services program. I can’t wait to see the work exhibited together in the library’s gallery.”

The exhibition will be open to the public from April 14 to May 31.

Accelerator Grant Cycle 1 applications are now open. Artists can request up to $1,500 in funding. Merit awards celebrate outstanding work made by established local artists and will open in the fall.
