Cheap and Chic event to benefit Victory Center

A Cheap and Chic shoppers event is set for Saturday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Lamson’s Building, 600 Jefferson Avenue, Toledo. Admittance is $5, and proceeds benefit the Victory Center.

Local boutiques including Ragazza, Sophia Lustig, Vivian Kate, The Little Being, Meig, Hip to the Groove, Madison Paul, I.M. Jaffe Jewelers, and Pura Cashmere will be on hand selling their beautiful chic designs for “cheap money” all in support of the Victory Center.

Prepare to see designer looks at bargain prices in this once-a-year extravaganza from local boutiques who invite people to shop local.

“Where else can you see the best stores in northwest Ohio under one roof,” states Pat Nowak.

Meredith Moore, from Sophia Lustig, agrees. “The local retail community has a long history of supporting local non-profit organizations in Toledo,” she said. “We believe by collaborating with non-profit organizations, we can begin a longterm partnership raising money for a much-needed cause. The Victory Center is pleased to host this annual shopping event and ours is just one more step in the community coming together to support northwest Ohio organizations.”

Jane Wurth, from Ragazza, said the event began after the economic downturn in 2009.

“Many of the local stores had purchased too much inventory and an idea was formed to develop a Cheap and Chic event,” said Wurth. “Most people love to shop and at that time they wanted a bargain and still enjoyed seeing fabulous looks at discounted prices. We combined the event raising money for local charities and this year the event celebrates its annual project of helping the community.”
