SCHOOL NEWS

PBIS Store

At least once every six weeks, our Crissey Lions are able to shop at our Crissey Elementary School character store. Our social emotional coach, Carrie Pratt, goes around to all the classrooms, and students are able to use their earned “caught being good” tickets to purchase various items and toys.

A big thank you goes out to the CPC. We would not be able to do this without our parents’ club financial support for our building-wide PBIS programming.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports programming, or PBIS, is a national research-based program which focuses on preventative behavior management on a school-wide and classroom level.

During their school day, students can earn tickets by showing the Crissey core commitments of being responsible, being respectful, being safe and being prepared. All staff members have tickets to give out to recognize students for making positive behavior choices. Each month, students can then use these tickets to shop at the character store to purchase various items.

Along with our character store, Crissey Elementary also celebrates their students for making positive choices each week through a building- wide ticket drawing in which they earn other prizes.
