A section of Sylvania Avenue near the roundabout at Mitchaw Road in Sylvania Township will close starting Monday, June 19 for an improvement project.
Eastbound Sylvania from Bridgecreek Road to the roundabout at Mitchaw will be closed for five days. Westbound traffic will be maintained as well as traffic on all other legs of the roundabout. The detour routes will be Kilburn Road, Central Avenue and Herr Road.
Bowers Asphalt and Paving is performing required intersection modifications to the existing roundabout to accommodate a new entrance to the Rivertree subdivision.
They will be modifying the splitter island on the west leg of the roundabout to line up with the new road on the new south leg.
The intersection is currently a three-legged roundabout, and this will help create the fourth leg.
