Harvest Gathering set for Saturday, October 25 in downtown Pemberville

Pemberville will hold its Harvest Gathering on Saturday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in downtown Pemberville.

The Pemberville-Independent Merchants Association will host the annual Artisan Craft Show and Gift Boutique. Bethlehem Lutheran will feature an array of artisans/ crafters on two levels. Many of the crafters are long-time partners, participating year after year. Patrons will find a mix of wood crafts, jewelry, paper florals, fabric art, baked goods, textile goods, metal works and more.

Beeker’s General Store will host its Maker’s Market next to the store, at 222 East Front Street, featuring artisans form northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Both venues open at 9 a.m.

Riverbank Antiques, located in the heart of downtown, will showcase three levels of antiques and collectibles along with its Antique Alley (outside, weather permitting).

Otterbein Senior Life-Pemberville will provide complimentary shuttle service. Pickup will be offered at designated locations along the festival route.

Three of Pemberville’s historic landmarks will be open for free tours. Pemberville’s oldest frame house, the Pember- Furry House, will be open with greeters sharing tidbits of history. The one room school will be open for some “reading and writing.” Pemberville’s restored Opera House, located on the second floor of the town hall, also will be open.

The smells of the Old Smokehouse will prevail with sausage on a stick being sold by the Pemberville-Freedom Area Historical Society. The ringing of the blacksmith’s anvil will be heard, as well, as the resident artisan creates heirloom keepsakes.

Festival goers who come hungry will have a variety of options. Featured will be Poppin George’s kettle corn, Country Grains’ Sin-O-Man bread, cabbage rolls and snipple bean soup, along with other soups and sandwiches, Beeker’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream, Front Street Café, and the Historical Society will offer homemade pie by the slice, along with other baked goods. Food trucks slated to be a part of the festivities include Manny’s Munchies, Uncle Louie’s and the Bucking Barista.

Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available.

Ample parking will be available behind the business district, near Bethlehem, in the downtown, Mason park lot and near the opera house.
