The Ohio Highway Patrol, in partnership with the Lucas County sheriff's office, conducted an OVI checkpoint on May 17 on McCord Road near Dorr Street in Springfield Township.
Troopers and deputies made contact with 503 drivers, and none were found to be impaired.
During and following the checkpoint, saturation patrols were conducted to combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes.
During the saturation patrols, 37 vehicles were stopped for traffic violations, seven were found to be impaired and arrested for OVI. Additionally, during these patrols, troopers made one felony drug arrest.
