In case any family missed the important announcement on Friday, May 6, the district shared information that the last official day for elementary kindergarten through fifth grade students will now be Tuesday, May 24, instead of the 25th. This will be a full day of school.
This change does allow us to reschedule the Holland Elementary School kindergarten recognition event. We will host it on May 24, beginning promptly at 2 p.m. (Additional information includes: the program will take place in the middle school gym–right outside the Holland cafeteria. Each class will sing a couple songs for their guests and afterwards, students and families will be invited to the cafeteria for some cookies and juice boxes. Students will each be permitted to bring four guests. Guests can park in the lot behind the football stadium and enter through the sixth grade doors. We will have guests sign in for this event.
In other news, as often happens at the end of the school year, we encourage families to check the school’s lost and found. There is a large supply of unclaimed items. While students are encouraged to look for any missing items, we do want to remind families that anything left at the end of the year will be donated to Goodwill.
Holland Students of the Week
The following students were recognized as students of the week for demonstrating the Hawk Way: kindergarten, Nicole; first-Branson; second, Liam; third, Aubri; fourth, Damicah, and fifth, Bailey.
Field Day Information
Field Day will be taking place all day Friday, May 20, on the high school track. We are allowing parents this year, if they would like, to sit in the stands and watch their child. We ask that you enter the gate closest to the middle school, so you can sign in. Please do not sign in at the school. Here are the times: first and second grade, 1 to 2:45 p.m.; third grade, 10:45 a.m. to 12:13 p.m.; fourth and fifth grade, 9:15 to 11 a.m.
We are no longer accepting order forms for the free field day T-shirt. The original deadline was May 4, and we extended this to the 6th. Once again, thank you to the Holland Parent Club for their generosity.
Fifth Grade Recognition
Fifth grade recognition will take place on Tuesday, May 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the high school auditorium. Formal invitations will be sent out to families, but you can mark it down now. We are allowing each student to invite four guests for the event. More information will be coming soon.
