The Village of Holland will ring in the holiday season with the annual tree lighting on Tuesday, December 2.
Originally held on the first Thursday of December, the event was changed to Tuesday for 2025.
The tree lighting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., at Strawberry Acres Park, 950 South McCord Road, Holland.
The Springfield High School band and choir will perform after which the tree will be lit. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive immediately following the tree lighting aboard a vintage Springfield Township fire truck decorated for the holiday season.
Santa will visit with children inside the lodge where cookies and milk will be served.
There also will be children’s activities sponsored by area churches, the Holland Branch Library and Penta Career Center cosmetology.
Complimentary photos of children with Santa will be offered, courtesy of Scott Stigall, State Farm Insurance.
The 24-foot pre-lit artificial Christmas tree, purchased by the village in 2024, will be located near the gazebo and lodge.
