Last week I made it to almost every class to acknowledge the students that made it on honor roll. My message to all students is to focus on growth over grades and success will come. The best way to do that is work on your effort and your attitude.
Don’t Miss Your Chance for a Yearbook I apologize for not including this in previous newsletters. Thursday, March 30, is the deadline date for ordering a 2022-23 Holland Intermediate yearbook. Office Max to Sponsor Holland Intermediate
Office Max has picked Holland Intermediate for their school supply drive donation program. How does this work?
Beginning April 1, when someone shops at their Holland location, 6520 Centers Drive, Spring Meadows Place, they will have an option to “round up for Holland.” All of the money generated through that option will be distributed quarterly to the school for use on school supplies. This is a tremendous benefit to our staff and students, and we want to thank anyone who chooses to participate.
Holland Intermediate and Middle School Open House May 9
There will be an open house on Tuesday, May 9, for all incoming fourth and sixth graders to Holland Intermediate and Springfield Middle School for the 2023-24 school year. The event will be from 6 to 7 p.m., and it will be an opportunity to tour both schools and meet the building principals.
State Testing Dates
The state testing dates are set. Fourth grade students take the AIR test in math and ELA. Fifth grade students will take math, ELA and science. Please note that we have make up testing dates for students who are absent. The final day to make up an ELA test is April 28. The final day to make up a math or science test is May 12. These are timelines created by the Ohio Department of Education.
Fouth Grade ELA
Test 1: Wednesday, April 12.
Test 2: Friday, April 14. Make up dates: April 13, 17 and 18.
Fifth Grade ELA
Test 1: Wednesday, April 19.
Test 2: Friday, April 21. Make up dates: April 20, 24 and 25.
Fifth Grade Science Test 1: Tuesday, April 25. Test 2: Thursday, April 27. Make up dates: May 8 through 12.
Fourth Grade Math Test 1: Tuesday, May 2. Test 2: Thursday, May 4. Make up dates: May 8 through 12.

Test 1: Wednesday, May 3 Test 2: Friday, May 5 Make up dates: May 8 through 12 SMS Band and Choir Parent Meeting
The Springfield Middle School band and choir parent meeting will be held Monday, March 27, at 7 p.m., in SMS East gym.
This is an in-person parent meeting. We will be discussing classroom materials, performances, instrument fittings and how to rent instruments for next year. All choir and band families and students are encouraged to attend. Please come with any questions you may have about next year. We hope to see you all at this meeting.

Each week our teams nominate one student as their gamer of the week. The category they are being selected for is leadership.
