A Holland resident is among three people killed in a single car crash on November 16. Kenneth Blake, 53, of Holland, a passenger in the car, was killed.
According to the Toledo Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 7:45 p.m., on State Route 64 near mile post 7 in Swanton Township.
The driver, Heather Decair, 27, of Monclova, drove her vehicle off the north side of the roadway, striking a tree.
Barbara Wegener, 50, of Toledo, was seated in the front passenger seat, and Blake was in the left rear passenger seat.
All three were pronounced deceased on scene and transported to the Lucas County coroner’s office.
Decair and Wegener were wearing their safety belts and Blake was not restrained, said Lieutenant Rustun Schack, adding that the crash resulted in the closure of Route 64 for five hours.
The patrol was assisted on scene by the Lucas County sheriff’s office, Whitehouse Police Department, Metroparks Toledo, Whitehouse Fire and EMS and the coroner’s office.
The crash remains under investigation.
