Holland Sylvania/Sylvania intersection to be resurfaced

Resurfacing work will begin Monday, July 22, on the intersection of Holland Sylvania Road and Sylvania Avenue in Sylvania Township.

The seven-day project includes milling the existing pavement, performing spot full depth pavement repairs, placing a two-course asphalt overlay, adjusting manholes, making drainage improvements, placing pavement markings and RPMs, and performing other related work.

During this time, the intersection will close to through traffic, but drivers can still reach businesses around the intersection, which will be open.

“Small businesses are a key part of the fabric of our communities,” said Mike Pniewski, Lucas County engineer. “Safer roads are part of their success. Don’t let a few extra minutes keep you from supporting your favorite businesses.”

The engineer’s office is now halfway through the 2024 construction season.

To keep up with construction projects, Pniewski recommends following them on Facebook at Lucas County Engineer’s Office.
