SCHOOL NEWS
Last week, we honored the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I can’t think of a better tribute than to share a few of the words he spoke about service. He said, “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.” It’s not a far stretch to suggest that if you would like the chance to support Holloway students–well, we have just the event for you.
Holloway Elementary School will host a literacy night on Thursday, February 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We will have a book fair open to families, which will have a Candy Land theme. There will be community organizations, games, activities and food for purchase. You can support our students by purchasing from the book fair for your family or donate books back to the school for students and classrooms. We look forward to seeing many of you that evening for a night of community support and fun.
I think Dr. King would appreciate the effort, don’t you? After all, everyone is welcome and there really is no better way to feed one’s heart and soul than by finding, reading and sharing a good book.
