SCHOOL NEWS
Wasn’t it just yesterday that we were wishing “Good Luck” to our third grade students? Well, here were are at the end of August and Jump Start appointments helped us transition from “summer” thoughts to “Back-to-School” thoughts and plans.
We would like to thank the tour guides who assisted families during the special days in guiding visitors to classrooms. What a great way to really become familiar with teachers, drop off supplies, snap quick pictures of first days. We also were pleased to help guests, while they waited, with options to visit the gym where they could:
•Make sure they have access to PowerSchool
•Pay school fees
•Fill-out the free and reduced lunch forms
•Learn about our wonderful Holland Association of Parents (HAP) and complete HAP forms to get involved
•Complete medication forms (if needed)
•Deposit funds in student meal accounts We even had a scavenger hunt paper that most students completed once they finished their classroom work. There were chances to win a prize, which will be awarded during the first week of school.
As always, email me if there is anything we can do to help make the transition back to school easier, at nelle ratliff@springfieldschools. org.
For Your Information
In an exciting move that promises to ignite the imaginations of young readers across the state, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library has made its heartwarming debut in Ohio. This beloved literacy program, founded by iconic country music legend Dolly Parton, has taken its mission of fostering a love for reading and learning to new heights as it extends its reach to communities throughout the buckeye state.
The library is renowned for its innovative approach to early childhood literacy. Through this program, children from birth to age five receive free, high-quality books delivered right to their doorsteps.
Now, families in Ohio have the chance to participate in this literary adventure, setting the stage for a brighter future for young learners.
“The Imagination Library is more than just books,” said Dolly Parton, the visionary force behind the program. “It’s a doorway to endless possibilities, a chance for children to dream, learn and explore through the power of storytelling. I’m thrilled that the Imagination Library has found a home in Ohio, where families will embark on unforgettable literary adventures together.”
