Making Progress in the Holloway Prairie
Holloway Elementary School students continue to learn more about our Prairie in Progress, from members of the Toledo Zoo. A true classroom without walls, the prairie provides students with a natural, living learning lab and is a lot of fun to visit.
It is so much fun to watch the students when they are visiting the prairie—whether their faces are serious while studying the plants native to our region or animated in pursuit of crawly creatures.
Teachers are learning a lot, too, while receiving professional development that enables us to incorporate the prairie into daily lessons.
Coming up, our first grade students will be expecting a visit from Gail Fink (otherwise known as Betsy Bee) and Cheri Kaintz.
Both work with the Toledo Botanical Garden and plan to share information about the pollinators that will be utilizing the prairie.
