A Pizza of Our Hearts! Valentine’s Day is a time for love, friendship, candy, cards and even pizza. In lieu of creating Valentine’s Day boxes and bags at home this year, students created pizza Valentine’s Day boxes in Mrs. Walter’s first grade classroom. Thanks to a generous donation by Pizza-Roma, in Holland and Maumee, the students created Valentine’s Day boxes out of the donated pizza boxes to hold all of their cards and treats.
The students decorated the outside of the box and on the inside of the box they wrote about things they loved, such as animals, people, food and books. Before passing out valentines, students walked around the room and wrote a positive compliment about each student on a heart and then placed the heart in the pizza box. The students were so excited to read all of the kind compliments their classmates wrote about them. Valentine’s Day is always such a wonderful time for love, kindness and friendship. It is always a special day in first grade.
A big thank you to Angela at PizzaRoma, for being our community friend. You have a “pizza” of our heart. We love you more than pizza.
