We hope you have had a wonderful summer with your families and your students are getting excited to get back into the swing of things. As you have read from Mr. Geha’s district communications, it is currently recommended that masks are worn, but are not required–except for students who are riding the bus. We will strive for three feet of distance throughout the classrooms, hallways and cafeteria.
We will remind students of handwashing protocols. Water fountains will not be available, but the bottle fillers will be, so students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school. At this time, no edible birthday treats will be allowed to be distributed in the classrooms. Also, no visitors will be allowed in the school building.
Once again, all students will have access to breakfast and lunch at no cost. As we look forward to the next couple of weeks, here are some important dates and reminders:
•August 9–Our 2021 Virtual Open House was posted and shared with families.
•August 16–first day of school for all students in grades one through five.
•Breakfast is available for all students at no cost–students will be allowed to enter the school at 8:10 a.m. for breakfast, otherwise all students will enter at 8:15 a.m.
•Dismissal for buses will start around 3 p.m., with students being picked up by a parent.
•Following the departure of buses, our goal will be a 3:10 p.m. dismissal (this always takes more time the first week of school)
•August 18–kindergarten boys only attend school.
•August 19–kindergarten girls only attend school.
•August 20–all kindergarten students attend school.
Additional communication will be sent home before the students are back in the building. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions by calling the office or emailing Principal Nelle Ratliff.
We can’t wait to see our Holloway students.
