Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness to host rally at Hensville Park

The Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness will host its annual Kindness Rally at Hensville Park on Sunday, July 23, from noon to 2 p.m., to commemorate the anniversary of Luken’s passing and observe a “Day of Kindness.”

On July 31, 2017, after an incident of online bullying, 14-year-old Luken sadly took his own life. The Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness was started by his mother, Samantha, to teach empathy and spread kindness in her son’s honor.

The afternoon’s itinerary will include a kindness proclamation by Mayor Kapszukiewicz, live music by Max Boyle, appearances by University of Toledo football coach, Jason Candle, Central Catholic Irish Dance Team, Muddy, food, face painting, games and more.

Following the rally, supporters are invited to attend the Mud Hens afternoon game. Tickets can be purchased through the group directly for $11 at fevogm. com/event/Lukent.

New this year, attendees can give a gift of intentional kindness by participating in the Kindness Angel Tree since it is “Christmas in July” supporting area non-profits Connecting Kids to Meals, HARC, Inc., Helping Hands of St. Louis and Nightingales Harvest.

The campaign hopes to engage all of northwest Ohio for a city-wide day of kindness.
