Maple & Main Art & Music Festival at Olander Park on May 31 and June 1

Free festival brings more than 80 artists and music performers, food and beverage options to enliven the lake trails of Olander Park in Sylvania.

Sylvania’s Maple & Main Art & Music Festival returns to Sylvania the weekend of May 31 and June 1. Hours are Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Art has always brought people together and defined communities, and we’re thrilled to be an art festival tradition in the region.” said Ken Dymond, executive director of Sylvania Arts.

Eighty plus visual artists from around the country will display their work in booths during the festival. Featured media include photography, painting, jewelry, fibers, glass, ceramics, wood and more. Artists from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan will participate, including last year’s award winner in painting, Aaron Bivins.

Artist booths will be lined up and down the trails at Olander Park. A stage for musical performances will be set up near the beach, along with a beer garden. A food court featuring 10 local street food vendors and a children’s art activity area will be near the playground. Musical acts include local and regional talent representing genres from rock and bluegrass to jazz, folk and polka. Buskers will perform at pop-up locations around the festival. The headliners on Saturday night will be Purple Bois, followed by Frog Holler from Pennsylvania. The festival will close out on Sunday afternoon with J. Navarro and the Traitors. The festival is open to the general public with free parking at Tam-O-Shanter Ice Rink.
