The Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission will host its 11th annual Art and About 2024: Jim White Memorial Paint Out. The plein air (open air) event will be held May 31 through June 4, in downtown Waterville.
Art and About is a multiday event that invites talented local artists to set up and paint outdoors throughout the historic city.
The public is invited to watch the artists paint and interact with them as they work.
The free, family-friendly event gives the public an opportunity to see talented artists in action.
The Anthony Wayne Area Arts Commission will share the locations of artists on the AWAAC Facebook page each morning.
Paintings will be on display in the Waterville Branch Library, 800 Michigan Avenue, in conjunction with the AW Inspiration Art Exhibit from June 4 through July 24. The exhibit will feature the work of many local artists.
The public is invited to stop in the library to view the work then cast their votes for the People’s Choice award.
Artists who are interested in painting in this year’s event can contact Lisa Exner at lisaexner23@gmail.com. Lunches for artists will be provided by AWAAC on May 31 and June 1.
