Mercy Health’s Mobile Mammography unit has visits scheduled throughout the region in September.
The mobile mammography unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older. It is equipped with the newest 3D technology and offers patients the option of selfcompression, meaning the patient will have the ability to control the compression once they are in position.
The unit makes access to mammography services easier. It offers safe and easy screenings at convenient locations throughout northwest Ohio. Early diagnosis of breast cancer has proven better outcomes.
The unit is scheduled to be at the following locations: •Saturday, September 13, Mercy Health–Sylvania Health Fair, 4126 Holland-Sylvania Road, Toledo
•Saturday, September 20, Mount Zion Church, 701 Vance Street, Toledo
•Sunday, September 28, Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure, 406 Washington Street, Toledo
•Tuesday, September 30, Lucas County Sherriff’s Office, 1622 Spielbusch., Toledo, While mammogram screenings may be covered by insurance, for best coverage, participants should verify if Mercy Health–St. Charles Hospital is an innetwork provider with their insurance carrier. Those who are uninsured or underinsured may qualify for financial need-based assistance programs or a no-cost mammogram. Call 1-800-9296626 for more information.
Screenings at the Mercy Health Mobile Mammography unit are by appointment only. Call 833-MAMMVAN to schedule a screening on the mobile unit.

Individuals should consult a doctor about when to have a screening mammogram.
Certified radiologists read all mammograms and are double-checked by a computer-aided detection system. Participants and their physicians receive a copy of the results.
