A number of rules and regulations are being revised and updated by the Metroparks Toledo board of commissioners.
Brad Navarre, chief of rangers, said most of the changes are minor, clarifying language but some are due to changes in park usage.
He pointed out section 20.44, which addresses micromobility devices. They are defined as electric bicycles, electric scooters and skateboards, self-balancing devices or similar equipment.
People using the devices must maintain a reasonable speed as to not interfere or endanger other park patrons, Chief Navarre said. He also noted the devices are not to have internal combustion engines and all equipment must be under 100 pounds. To be on multipurpose trails, the vehicles must be small.
Changes also were made to fishing regulations The chief said all ponds and lakes within the park district are now catch and release to allow Metroparks to maintain a healthy stock.
The ponds will remain that way unless posted for special opportunity programs or management practices, he explained.
