Musica Antigua de Toledo concert set for Nov. 23

Musica Antigua de Toledo announces its upcoming concert season titled “Life’s Pleasures.” It is the area’s longstanding early music ensemble, recreating the sounds of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras with voices and various historical instruments. The public is invited to join them as they explore the sounds of these times, each distinct from the others, giving insight into the sounds of these early eras.

Concert I: Eat, Drink and Be Merry, will be held Sunday, November 23, at 3:30 p.m. Merrymaking in earlier times seems often to have been closely tied to the pleasures of the drink, especially wine and beer, and much music was written relating and extolling these activities. Simply making music also was a pleasurable activity. All this is still true today.

Concert II: Springtime Pleasures, is set for Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Spring brings many pleasures with the new life coming forth. Much music was composed during these earlier eras relating to spring pleasure and beauty.

Both concerts are held at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5445 Heatherdowns Boulevard, Toledo.

A freewill offering will be taken.
