When dressed appropriately and mentally prepared, even the most finicky of adults are usually game to get a little muddy, especially when it’s for a great cause.
The 13th annual Bump, Set, Splat, Mud Volleyball Tournament sponsored by Genoa Bank and hosted by the Toledo Sport and Social Club is back again this year. Registration is now open with Nature’s Nursery Center For Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation.
Bump, Set, Splat started 12 years ago as a small tournament and has grown to include more than 90 teams playing over the course of an entire day on a dozen courts.
The event is held at the Lucas County fairgrounds where Klumm Brothers donates their time to excavate each court approximately 12” deep to then be filled with water.
“We love putting on this event each year and seeing it grow. The mud component makes everyone move slower and really levels the playing field for all skill levels to jump in and have fun” said Jesse Spier, owner of Toledo Sport And Social Club.
Bump, Set, Splat will be held on August 24, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to Nature’s Nursery.
Teams can register online at toledosportandsocialclub. com/events. The cost is $450 per team of up to 10 people.
