The Holland Historical Society Museum welcomed families on December 6. Guests enjoyed decorated rooms, holiday vignettes, hands-on children’s activities, refreshments and a warm community atmosphere that captured the spirit of the season.
A highlight of the afternoon was the annual student ornament contest awards ceremony at 1 p.m., showcasing creative work from young artists across the community. Under the guidance of Holland Intermediate’s art and design teacher, Mrs. Nottingham, Springfield students crafted ornaments for display in the museum’s exhibit.
Local businesses generously provided prizes for the contest. First place was a Fire Nation gift certificate; second place, Copper Moon gift certificate; third place, Hobby Lobby gift certificate, and honorable mention: museum T-shirt.
Fourth grade winners are: first place, Caius Flores; second place, Emma Grycza; third place, Emmalee Lutz, and honorable mention, Jared Fann and Addison Armstrong.
Fifth grade winners are: first place, Calista Neumeyer; second place, Tessa Parker; third place, Brooklyn Byersmith, and honorable mention, Mason Espitia, Joshlynn Turner and Naomi Hunkapiller.
