At the February 1 meeting, the Penta Career Center board of education approved the calendar for the 2022-23 school year.
New students will begin classes on Thursday, August 18 with the entire student body returning on August 19.
The first semester will end prior to winter break on Thursday, December 22, and students will return to school on January 4.
Spring break runs from April 3 to April 7 with classes resuming Monday, April 10.
The school year is slated to conclude May 24 with make up days, if needed, set for May 25, 26, 30 and 31.
As per tradition, seniors will finish earlier than their underclassmen, on Friday May 12 with recognition for graduates planned Tuesday through Thursday, May 16 to 18.
Other Business
In other business, the board:
•Accepted the resignation of Jennifer White, adult education secretary, effective January 26.
•Agreed to advertise for bids on bus lot resurfacing and underdrain installation. The bids will be opened March 2.
•Approved internships of 10 Bowling Green State University student teachers for the spring semester beginning in February. They are Alyssa Bengela, Macray Brown, Braden Conrad, Mia Engelke, Logan Grimm, Reece Morales, Callie Rohrs, Sklyar Shaffer, Haylie Stuck and Brendan Lanier.
•Approved two requests to attend professional meetings.
•Received an update on social media communications from Monica Dansack, public relations coordinator.
The next school board meeting will be at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, in the board meeting room, 9301 Buck Road, Perrysburg Township, and is open to the public
