At a May 11 meeting, the Penta Career Center school board took the following action on personnel matters:
•Accepted resignations for Raven Dotson, English instructor; Keverne Van Dorp, cafeteria worker; Alyssa Johnson, instructional aide, all at the end of 2021-22.
•Employed supportive personnel–Andrew Haack, maintenance II, one-year limited contract for 2021-22, effective June 8; David McPherson, substitute bus driver, $15.87 per hour, May 1 to June 30; Katherine Skaff, supervisor of student summer workers, $19.12 per hour, June 1 to 30; Julie Smothers, secretary, 180-day probationary contract, effective May 2; and student summer workers, $11.50 per hour, June 1 to August 12, Zachary Miller (IT), Marcus Arndt, Dakota Babcock, Connor Barnd, Brandon De-Anda, Alivia King, Keyanna Matyas, Camden McWilliams, Connor Miller, Dylan Oberhouse, Mikayla Papenfuse, Tyler Sandoval, Joziah Smith, Timothy Turski, Olivia Wertz. •Authorized employment of certificated personnel– Collin Jones, industrial maintenance instructor; Kristine Seibert, sophomore exploratory instructor in health; Hannah Bushong, intervention specialist; Alyssa Johnson, culinary II instructor, each one-year limited contract for 2022-23 school year.
•Approved employment contracts, for one year effective July 1, for Rhonda Cooper, Lila Croley, Suzanne Kramer, cafeteria workers; Krista Archer, Debra Diebler, Rachel Ewing, Stephanie Miller, instructional aides; Andrew Haack, maintenance II; Hortencia Perez, preschool technician; Merl Creps and Bradley Gilbert, seasonal maintenance; Amanda Hubaker and Melissa Lang, secretaries; and continuing contracts for Barbara Bruno, Edward Fitzpatrick, Teresa Swaisgood, instructional aides.
•Approved employment contracts, for one year effective July 1, for instructors Craig Clark, Tara Fortener, Amir Horani, Cortney Humphrey, Jacob Kraegel, Renata Kurtz, Andrew Larsen, Rami Mansour, Allison Pamer, Michael Smithmyer, Tyler Starry, Ciara Stewart, Tyler Stull, Ashley Terry, Krystal Thomas, Amanda Valdez, Steven Van Etten, Justice Zimmerman; school counselors Kristen Benner, Daniel Stoots; and contracts for four years for instructors Brett Kneeskern, Steven Lark, Richard Perz, school counselor Marinda Moeller, school nurse Stephanie Slattman; five year contracts for career assessment specialist Malia Homer, instructors Megan Bores, Jennifer Rigali, Shelley Rogers, Kay-Lynne Schaller, Brenda Strauss, school counselor Leslie Zilba and school nurse Adrienne Gurney; continuing contracts for instructors Amanda Berger, Christine May, Rebecca Pisula, Michelle Reed, Brittany Stewart, Christie Westenkirchner; and one year contract for Jessica Arbuckle, adult education Aspire coordinator.
•Authorized administrative contracts for Alexandra Schwarzman, information tech I, one year; Tricia Hornyak, admissions representative, three years; Alexas Piper, assistant to the treasurer I, three years; Sandra Friess and Jacob Terry, information tech II, three years; Monica Dansack, public information coordinator, three years.
•Approved re-employment administrative contracts for Joshua Sandwisch and Troy Slattman, assistant supervisors, one year each; Tonya Kessinger, assistant director of career tech instruction, three years; Rachel Bernhard, assistant supervisor, three years; David Stacklin, supervisor of agriculture, manufacturing and transportation, three years.
•Approved 19 requests to attend professional development meetings, including 15 for the High Schools That Work conference.
•Met in executive session to discuss employment or compensation of a public employee, but did not take action afterward.
The next board of education meeting will be at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, in the board meeting room, 9301 Buck Road, Perrysburg Township, and is open to the public.
