Photography workshop offered on August 17

The F J. Westcott Company is offering professional photography workshops that focus on technology, niche practices and various applications of practical photographyequipment.The company has partnered with industry leaders to offer a free online education center to visitors. There will now be opportunities to meet with these instructors in-person through the Westcott LiveLearning program.The workshops will provide opportunities for attendees to get hands-on practice with renowned gear for a professional experience and portfolio advancement.

The upcoming workshop will be a multi-day experience beginning at 6 pm, Wednesday, August 17, at the Maumee headquarters, 1425Holland Road.A former Nikon representative and photographer will break down studio portraits and give key tips in determininglighting setups. The representative also will provide details for efficient workflows on set and the understanding of the technical functions of strobe lighting.

The final day of the workshop will be Thursday, August 18 at 5 p.m. with a tour of the historical Ludwig Mill in Providence Metropark.

Participants will be able to photograph inside and on the surrounding property to capture scenic images.

Transportation will be provided to the Metropark for attendees of the two-dayworkshop.The company launched Live Learning to give experiential education to the digital media and arts community that cannot be obtained online.

The goal is to give experience to northwest Ohio photographers.
