PowerSchool: an important tool

PowerSchool accounts provide an important resource for parents. To set up an account, visit the Springfield Local School website at springfieldschools. org and click on the PowerSchool Parent Instructions tab. Those who already have an account can click on the Parent Login tab.

PowerSchool accounts provide parents with access and customizable alerts for students in grades 4 to 12. Parents can view their schedules, grades and attendance. They also can determine what thresholds and when to receive information through the app. Parents can easily change and update contact information, emergency contacts, medical information and more, and have it accessible to school staff in real time.

Once the accounts are established, access remains for the student’s entire career at SLS.

In the event a student becomes sick or needs assistance, accurate, up-to-date information allows Springfield staff to contact the parent/guardian as quickly as possible.

School fees also can be paid online through PowerSchool.

Returning forms are now completed online. This ensures the accuracy of contact information. Parents simply need to confirm the information is correct rather than needing to reenter it every year.

All changes are automatically updated in the Instant Alert contact information. It also is provided to all staff members, including the transportation department and its corresponding apps.

PowerSchool allows families to link all students and complete most demographic information one time, rather than separately for each child. It also reduces paper and the time needed to get information to the right people.
