Registration begins for Penta adult ed., firefighter programs

Registration is underway for adult education programs at Penta Career Center that begin in August and September.

Fast and flexible program options are available in skilled trades, healthcare and manufacturing.

In addition, the career center now offers firefighter certification programs including volunteer firefighter and firefighter 1 and 2.

These short-term programs are designed to prepare adults for careers in auto maintenance and light repair; construction technologies; introduction to HVAC; welding; CNC programming/ precision machining; dental assisting, and phlebotomy. Penta also offers courses with flexible starting dates including forklift training and CDL with Trainco.

For companies and businesses, adult education offers customized workforce development training at a reasonable cost at your location or at Penta’s classrooms and labs in Perrysburg, Bowling Green and Holland/Springfield Township.

Online courses are offered in health and fitness, computer applications, accounting and finance, and personal development.

Through Penta’s partnership with ed2go, the online courses are led by instructors or are self-guided. Courses start at $99 per six-week session.

Adults who want to improve their reading, writing and math skills or study for the High School Equivalency exam can register for Penta’s Aspire Career Pathways Readiness program offered at locations in Lucas and Wood counties. Contact the Aspire office at 419-661-6182 for more information.
