Rhythm on the River July 31 concert to feature the Ben DeLong Band

The next program in the Rhythm on the River Music Series will feature the Ben DeLong Band on Sunday, July 31, at 4 p.m.

The concerts are sponsored by the Historical Society of Grand Rapids, Ohio. The programs are presented in the Wright Pavilion located on the towpath between the canal and the Maumee River at the end of Lincoln Street behind LaRoe’s Restaurant.

Known as a one-man band, Ben DeLong plays multiple instruments, sometimes simultaneously. The band performs classic tunes such as “Last Kiss,” “Blueberry Hill,” “Moondance” and “Stand By Me.” The group also performs music from artists like Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5, the Beatles and Gavin DeGraw.

Joining Mr. DeLong on vocals/keys/trumpet will be Cara Taylor on vocals/ acoustic/percussion, Pete Rodriguez on guitar and Don Flugga on drums.

The concert is free. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the former fire station.
