Springfield High School News

On December 10, a group of 12 seniors from Springfield High School visited the University of Toledo to take part in the Junior Achievement Business of Life Challenge. During this event, students engaged in networking with local businesses, participated in an interview skills challenge, tackled a thinking-on-yourfeet challenge, and worked on a social innovation challenge. They collaborated with peers from other local school districts, including Perrysburg, Sylvania, Washington Local, Oregon City and others. Students also practiced delivering elevator pitches to both their classmates and potential employers.

This event marked the kickoff of the JA Senior Year Experience. In March, students will participate in the JA Stock Market Challenge, where they will compete to grow their investments in a simulated stock portfolio. Additionally, in May, they will attend the JA Inspire event, designed to further establish career connections.

Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to visit various job sites, including the Toledo Zoo, Mercy Health, Mercy College, First Solar and Clifton-LarsonAllen (CLA).
