Wow, the first trimester is coming to an end. Fall sports are wrapping up and soon, dare I say it, snow will be flying. Oh wait, northwest Ohio already gave us snow on Halloween. Anyway, back to the point, we are coming to the end of fall activities and one of those great events is our marching band season. Recently the 2023 Springfield Blue Devil Marching Band gave its curtain call performance in the high school field house. This final performance is an awesome end of the season with so many great traditions. Throughout the night, Mr. Pennell recognizes various members, from section leaders, parents and, of course, the seniors in the program.
This year though, Mr. Pennell and I thought to share special congratulations to all of the outstanding marchers of the week. Honored are Narjes Almutawa, Drew Bensman, Karlene Brown, Zoe Christian, Lola Conrad, Brennan Cook, Michael Dahmer, Ethan Hamms, Peyton Heldmann, Cooper Jackson, Julian Levy, Noah Littin, Avah Mohn, Taysha Pérez Otero, Alexa Post, Jacob Sell, Dylan Simon, Caitlyn Tarpy, Evan Waite and Alexiea Wall.
Special shout out to John Beatrice for qualifying for the All Regional Orchestra showcase.
This year, the band performed an outstanding show and I am so proud and thankful for all the families and members who supported the season. Thank you to Mr. Pennell, Ms. Hardner and all of the band members for representing our community so well.
