Directed by Emily Golick (seventh and eighth grade band) and Leah Schwan (seventh and eighth grade choir), Springfield Middle School’s music ensembles delivered outstanding performances at the Music in the Parks competition held at Sandusky High School on Saturday, May 10. Competing against schools from across four states—including Missouri and New York—both the band and choir earned excellent ratings and secured second place in Class AA. In addition, SMS was proudly awarded the prestigious 2025 Esprit de Corps Award for Class A and AA, recognizing the students’ exemplary spirit, professionalism and camaraderie.
The celebratory day concluded with well-deserved fun at Cedar Point Amusement Park. A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated band and choir chaperones for making this unforgettable experience possible.
