The Springfield Middle School Power of the Pen team had a successful day at the Tiffin District Tournament on Saturday, February 3.
The seventh grade team finished fifth overall out of 17 teams and had two writers place in the top 12. Alysenne Ellis finished in 11th, Sophia Rainey finished in 12th, and both will be accompanied by Jeff Caldwell and Hope Arasa as the four move on to compete at the regional tournament on Saturday, March 2, at Lourdes University.
The eighth grade team finished eighth overall out of 18 teams. Hope Snyder and Alia Alsawalha finished with honors and also will compete at the regional tournament.
