On September 30, the Lucas County Special Olympics flag football team joined the Springfield Middle School eighth grade football team for a special practice session. The two teams worked together on various drills, fostering teamwork, inclusion and sportsmanship. It was a meaningful experience for both the athletes and students, promoting a sense of community.
The following day, October 1, the Lucas County Special Olympics athletes were honored as honorary captains during the Springfield Blue Devils’ game. They proudly stood on the sideline, participating in the pre-game activities and were presented with complimentary Blue Devil football jerseys, recognizing their involvement and support.
