A pair of Penta Career Center students from Springfield Schools placed in the top 10 at the FCCLA national leadership conference in San Diego, held earlier this month.
Christian Dennis finished in the top 10 in the culinary arts baking and pastry contest and Julie Brazzil in the early childhood education parliamentary procedure team.
They were among 17 Penta students who placed in the top 10 in the nation at the contests.
FCCLA is a national career and technical student organization for students in family and consumer sciences education in public and private school through grade 12.
They offer intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students who pursue careers that support families.
