TARTA will offer a new service for attendees of Toledo’s African American Festival on Saturday, July 15.
The Urban Express will transport customers to Saturday evening’s concert in Promenade Park with direct service for $1.50 a ride or $3 for an unlimited-use day pass. Buses will run on a loop from the Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union, 1441 Door Street, to the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Summit Street, near the Hilton Garden Inn.
Trips begin at 2 p.m. and the final bus leaves downtown at 11 p.m.
The African American Festival parade begins at 10 a.m., followed by a community day with various events at Nelson Grace Park from noon to 3 p.m. Closing the evening is a concert at Promenade Park in the evening featuring Stokley, Ginuwine, Freddie Jackson, the Zapp Band and more. The gates to the concert space open at 3 p.m.
TARTA customers will also be able to use regular fixedroute service to each event. TARPS paratransit service and TARTA Flex riders can both schedule trips by calling 419381-9901. For more information, visit tarta.com/routes.
