HOOVES, a provider of healing programs for veterans and their families, have launched the Patriot Project, a youth equine-assisted healing program. The program aims to empower children ages 7-12 and 13-18, providing them with a opportunity to overcome challenges and discover inner strength through the bond between horses and humans.
The Patriot Project is driven by a mission to support and guide challenged youth in the community, helping them transform struggles into superpowers. The program is income-based and ensures accessibility for all of those interested in participating in the program.
During the six-week program, participants will engage in activities that promote personal growth, resilience and emotional well-being. Through equineassisted therapy, they will develop life skills such as communication, self-confidence, empathy and problemsolving. The program’s team of professionals will foster a nurturing environment in order to create strong bonds between the childre and the horses.
“We are thrilled to launch the Patriot Project and make a positive impact on the lives of our community’s youth,” said Katy Hubbard, founder and director of youth services. “By harnessing the healing power of horses, we aim to empower these children and help them overcome challenges they face, unlocking their full potential.”
The workshops take place for three days at the HOOVES retreat center, 4055 Wilkins Road, Swanton. There are three workshops left, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m each day. The dates are July 17 to 19, July 31 to August 2 and August 7 to 9.
Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children can apply through their website at hooves.us/ patriotproject. Limited spaces are available, so early registration is encouraged.
