With the shelter at capacity, the Toledo Humane Society is hosting “Doggone it… Get Meowt of Here!”
The adoption special is going on now, and THS is asking residents to help clear the shelter and provide a forever home for a pet.
During the promotion all cats six months and older will have $20 adoption fees and dogs six months and older will have $50 adoption fees.
While kittens are not currently part of the promotion, they can still be adopted at two for the adoption fee of one.
All pets adopted from THS are spayed or neutered, have received age-appropriate vaccines, are dewormed and microchipped.
For those unable to adopt at this time the society suggests fostering a pet.
“Our foster department is in desperate need of more foster families as kitten season is ramping up. We provide the supplies, while fosters supply time, love and a home for their temporary guests,” explained Abbey Hall, development director.
THS is a nonprofit organization committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes. The society has served northwest Ohio for more than 130 years and operates completely on donations and funds raised at their events.
THS is open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
