TMACOG, in partnership with Owens Community College, will present the inaugural Pathways to Public Service event from 4:30 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, October 9. This program is based on suggestions from caucus sessions at recent TMACOG general assembly meetings, where members and partners expressed a desire to raise awareness about the diverse careers and positions available in local communities.
This is not a job fair or a hiring event, but a chance to explore diverse careers with local governments and public organizations across the region.
During the Career Exploration Expo, attendees will visit with public employers from across the region to learn about the types of positions they offer and the skills and education that can equip them to pursue their goals.
Breakout sessions will feature panels of public employees sharing their personal journeys, insights into their roles and practical advice for those considering similar paths.
