The Eugene F. Kranz-Toledo Express and Toledo Executive airports are among airports statewide to receive federal funding for improvements.
Last week, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown said $46.43 million has been allocated for improvements at 96 airports across the state.
Locally, Toledo Express will receive $1.59 million and Executive Airport, $294,000.
“Ohio airports are vital infrastructure supporting travel and commerce in our state,” Sen. Brown said. “These investments will enhance safety and operations at Ohio airports and improve travel for Ohio families and businesses.”
The Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration has awarded the investments as part of the Airport Infrastructure Grant program. The awards were made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
