At the June 18 meeting, the Springfield Township trustees approved a resolution, placing a fire levy on the ballot in November.
The fire department is seeking voter approval of a five-year, 2.5-mill renewal levy with a 3.5-mill increase.
If passed, the levy will generate $3.9 million annually with collection starting in calendar year 2025. The additional 3.5 mills would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $10.21 per month, explained Mike Hampton, administrator.
